RECKLESS GIANTS rose from the ashes of a past project, carrying the lessons and scars that only come from starting over. The North Florida trio — Jeremy, John, and Coty — built their sound on instinct, chemistry, and the freedom to make whatever feels right. Blending pop-punk urgency with alt-rock heart, they’ve found their stride in raw honesty and shared emotion. Beneath the riffs and restless hooks lies a simple truth: this is a band doing it their way, no filters, no formulas.
SNQLX: Every band has a beginning — what moment or spark brought the three of you together and made Reckless Giants feel like more than just a name?
RG: This band actually was formed from the ashes of another project. We knew what we wanted this band to be about from the get go. It was the most important thing for us to simply do whatever we wanted to.
SNQLX: “Reckless Giants” feels like a bold contradiction — what does that name mean to you, and how does it reflect your identity as a band?
RG: Like I previously said, we knew what we wanted this be from the get go so finding a name to sort of reflect that was important for us. Our drummer Coty, actually nailed it down.

It’s just a reflection of the absurdity of daily life and how we’re all just finding our way.
SNQLX: Your sound lives somewhere between alternative and pop-punk — how did you shape that blend, and what keeps it feeling fresh for you?
RG: While all 3 of us share bands we love , we also have all sorts of different influences. Jeremy is into radio rock, John is into pop punk and Coty is into some of the heavier things so when we write, we just sort of goes with what feels natural and always try everyone’s idea. That helps with keeping things fresh, we never shoot down an idea until we try it. If it works great, if it doesn’t no big deal but we all have our voice.
SNQLX: When people listen to your songs, what emotion or truth do you hope hits them the hardest?
RG: Just that they aren’t alone and someone out there has felt the same thing.
SNQLX: Talk me through your songwriting process — who starts the fire, who fans the flames, and how do you know when a song’s finally done?
RG: Generally, I ( Jeremy ) bring in a riff maybe a verse and chorus for a few different ideas. John and Coty will sort of pick what intrigues them and then we crash right into. We all have ideas , sometimes John will bring a song as well. It’s a very collaborative experience. This sounds cringy but lol the songs sort of tell you when they are finished. Sometimes, it’s quick and easy. Other times , a song could stay in the writing stages for months. Just depends.
SNQLX: Wake Me Up feels like a defining track. What inspired it, and how does it capture where you are as artists right now?
RG: Wake me up was one of those songs, that just sort of came together out of thin air. Stared with the intro riff and melody and we wrote that song in one day. We wanted to write a love song so we did. That song was sort of the start of us really figuring out where we were headed as a band. Catchy melodies, driving rhythms .
SNQLX: You’ve built a strong visual presence online — what kind of world do you want your music videos and imagery to live in?
RG: We try to include everyone in on all aspects of being in a band. We like taking footage from shows and stuff. We tend to stay away from the scripted type stuff, just not our thing.
SNQLX: What’s been your most memorable live show so far — the night that reminded you why you do this in the first place?
RG: Atlanta , we opened for Driveways and Alien Ant Farm. Venue was sold out, great crowd, great energy just an overall amazing night.
SNQLX: Every band hits walls along the way — what’s been the biggest challenge you’ve faced together, and what did it teach you?
RG: The biggest challenge for us has been that we sort of do things our way. We’re a little stubborn, sometimes we see things other bands are doing and it works but if it’s not genuine for us then we don’t do it. Which is a good thing but also bad sometimes.
SNQLX: Looking ahead, what’s the next mountain for Reckless Giants — a sound you’re chasing, a stage you’re dreaming of, or something deeper?
RG: We are working on finishing our first EP due to drop at the end of October/ beginning of Nov.
We are also opening for Winona Fighter in Gainesville Fl at The Wooly Nov 14th.

Reckless Giants aren’t here to follow a formula. They’re carving out space for sincerity in a scene that often forgets it. With their debut EP on the horizon and a growing live footprint that’s already seen them share stages with Alien Ant Farm and Driveways, the band stands tall on their own terms. It’s not about perfection — it’s about connection. Because in the end, connection is what matters most.
